Elizabeth Gilbert on nurturing creativity

02/19/2010

As I have been attending Marianne Williamson’s Tuesday talks for the last few weeks, the notion of being a faucet to life’s water/inspiration is becoming a clearer truth. How can I get out of my own way? How can We serve humanity with our creativity?

Elizabeth Gilbert touches on the pain that is often associated with the creative life and the Greek idea that the inspiration of originality came from the gods. Her talk made me think of Alexander McQueen, Michael Jackson… extraordinary visionaires who dealt with anguish & brilliance simultaneously. Her proposal of embracing the mystery of creation is a comforting one…

Enjoy.
